Board of Directors
Equest Balkan Properties Board of Directors currently comprises six Non-executive Directors who are responsible for the overall management of the Company and for approving investment decisions. The Board meets regularly throughout the year. To enable the Board to perform its duties, each Director has full access to all information and the services of the Investment Manager. If necessary, the Directors may take independent professional advice at the Company's expense. The Board has delegated specific responsibilities to the Audit Committee.

James Ede-Golightly (Non-executive Director)

James Ede-Golightly (30), is Director of ORA Capital Partners Ltd (ORA) and its subsidiary, OCS Trading Limited. James was previously a Non-executive Director of Obtala Resources plc and Equest Investments Balkans Limited. Prior to joining ORA in 2006, James worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as an investment analyst and at Commerzbank AG as a proprietary trader. James is a CFA Charter Holder, has an Economics MA from Cambridge University and is resident in Guernsey.

 

Robin James (Non-executive Director)

Robin James (64) is based in the Isle of Man and, until he retired in June 2005, was CEO of the banking and financial services group, Singer & Friedlander (Isle of Man) Holdings Limited. Mr. James is currently licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission to provide Corporate and Trust Services under section 7 of the Financial Services Act 2008 and in a Non-executive Director of a diverse number of companies, including five listed companies. Mr. James spent nine years with Kleinwort Benson Limited in the UK and South Africa. He is also Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee.

 

Charles Jillings (Non-executive Director)

Charles Jillings (53), a qualified Chartered Accountant, is the Executive Director of Utilico Emerging Markets Limited, an investment company which invests predominantly in emerging markets. He has previously worked in corporate finance at Hill Samuel for 10 years. He has been a Director of a number of listed companies.

 

Donald Lake (Non-executive Chairman)

Donald Lake (64) is a Chartered Surveyor resident on the Isle of Man since 1998, and a Director of various other listed and non-listed companies. Following an early career in the City of London including time with Matthews and Goodman, and the property arm of C. T. Bowring & Co. Limited, he has some 30 years experience in property development, investment and finance in the UK and elsewhere.

Graham Smith (Non-executive Director)

Graham Smith (51) is a chartered accountant and an Isle of Man resident. He is currently Chief Accountant of IOMA Fund and Investment Management Limited, the administrator to the Company. He has over 25 years financial management experience primarily in the life assurance and investment funds sectors.

 

Pradeep Verma (Non-executive Director)

Pradeep Verma, CFA (56) joined Carrousel Capital in mid 2007 as a Quant Fund Manager to develop and back test various quant strategies for its fund. Currently, he is working as a Managing Director of QuantInvest, the company he set up in September 2008 in Singapore to develop new business relationships for Carrousel Capital’s flagship fund. Pradeep is a qualified CFA and CPA from USA, and ACA from India. He has over 25 years investment management experience.
